2024 Pedal Your Butte-Off!™ Challenge!
Sunday, June 23, 2024
8:30am – 1:00pm
Town Park / Center for the Arts
Crested Butte, Colorado
What is it?
The 3rd Annual Pedal Your Butte-Off!™ is a fundraising event in Crested Butte that raises awareness about whole health and provides mental health services in our fight against suicide in our community by involving families, friends, and children.
Pedal Your Butte-Off!™ Challenge is a human-powered wheel event where entrants use their creativity and imagination to build a wheeled device powered only by human(s) (no motors of any kind allowed!). Entrants follow a pre-designated route through the Town of Crested Butte and check in at 'stations' along the way to sample local vendor fare and get their 'Challenge Passport' stamped. Once completed, we end at Town Park for live music, beer, food, and celebrate life at our free festive event where we announce the 2024 'Challenge' winner!
So What's the 'Challenge' Competition?
While ANY wheeled device powered by humans can be entered, the winner of the 2024 Pedal Your-Butte-Off!™ Challenge will be judged by the following:
- The uniqueness, inventiveness, and creativity of their human-powered wheeled device entry.
- The overall theme (costumes, decorations, circuses: sounds, lights, steam).
- Mustache? Do you really have to ask! Grow it, paint-it, glue-it, or draw-it — but just sport-it!
- Entries must complete the route with everything they started with (all parts, pieces, and people).
- Entrants must turn in a completely stamped Challenge passport.
- The amount of donations raised and shown on your profile page.
* Yes wheeled items like bikes, unicycles, rollerblades, tricycles, wagons, wheelbarrows, wheelchairs, push-scooters are all eligible.
The Prize
The 2024 Pedal Your Butte-Off!™ Challenge Winner will be judged for the best overall entry and have bragging rights until the 2025 Pedal Your Butte-Off!™ Challenge.
- 1st Place: 'Big Wheel' Award + bragging rights!
- 2nd Place: Seriously, is this what you're willing to settle for?
